Here's a little challenge for myself and anyone else who wants to join in. 5 weeks to 10 pounds down and 10 new healthy habits. Of course, you don't have to lose 10 pounds in 5 weeks if you don't need or want to. Ideally I would like to lose 10 in 5 (still working on getting that baby weight off!), but if not, at least I'll be on my way to some healthier lifetime habits (I hope!). I'm going to try to post an update each Monday, and if you want to you can leave a comment to join and give your own update. Each Monday I will try to include 2 easy tips to encourage you (myself included) toward a healthier lifestyle and give you an update on my progress. Accountability, people! :-)
This week's goals:
1) Drink Water: this one's simple. Focus on getting 6 - 8 glasses a day in plus swap in water for your usual pop (that's Canadian for "soda" for all you American friends!) or sugary drink. I'm aiming for at least 48 oz a day plus cutting way back on pop.
2) Get Moving: Work some exercise into your day. I used to exercise regularly. Yes, used to. It's how I was able to finally lose the pregnancy weight from Elianna plus an additional 30 or so I gained after high school. I am finding it very hard to get back into this routine. I'm aiming for doing the 30 day shred 5 times a week for this challenge (it's only about 20 minutes long or so). If I am up for it, I'd like to add in some additional treadmill time, too.
Now, for a little feedback from you...do you exercise regularly? If so, when do you fit it in...especially if you have little ones? Morning, afternoon, or evening? Do you actually enjoy it or do you exercise just because you know you should.

I'm trying to cut down on drinking Dr. Pepper. ITS SOO HARD!! Also, I love walking to the park as exercise and I just started to doing my pilates DVDS last night. Hopefully I can continue to find the time to keep it up! Its hard to go on walks when its 90 degrees outside though.
Me and my daughter have been going to classes with Jazzercise since November normally three times a week. Now that school is out we have decided to up the challenge and start the Couch to 5k three times a week also which puts exercise in the forefront for us. Also we have stopped keeping soda in the house and are drinking more water and watching what we are eating. Our big challenge for the summer is for each of us to lose 10 pounds by August.
Blessings

Missy...my husband is a Dr. Pepper addict (I can't stand the stuff!) and it is FINALLY nice outside today. It actually snowed here last week!
Diane - If it was up to me, I'd keep the crazy stuff outta the house, but I have to get everyone on board, and I don't think that's going to happen yet :-)! The Couch to 5K program is great! I did it a year or two ago after I had Elianna. It really worked for me!
Me me me!!:) I'm more like 20, but ten is a start:) I've been thinking of doing something public, like a public food journal or weigh in...eek!
