We are on a bit of an adventure right now as the job my husband had accepted (since leaving his career) didn't really work out. It just wasn't exactly as he was told it would be, so we thought it best to move on. Now he is working on the farm for his dad until we hear about one other job he had applied for back in May. The job process for that position is very long with multiple steps. He passed everything so far (essay, exam, interview), but we have no idea what his chances are or where he ranks in the process. We are praying we hear soon about that job as we would ideally like to start school this September if he doesn't get this job. Our preference is definitely NOT to go to school, but whether or not this is the Lord's plan for us is uncertain right now. Time is quickly running out...and yes, I am getting nervous about the possibility of huge changes in the next few weeks, but I'm just trying to be patient and trust the Lord.
Yesterday we heard a very challenging and encouraging message in church. It was definitely a message I needed to hear....how there is a cost in following the Lord and we need to be willing to hold everything with an open hand, should the Lord ask for it. This includes money, our job, our kids, and everything else. Though I still have moments of doubt and worry, I do know that it became clear the Lord asked my husband to give up his job.
It will be very interesting to see where we end up in September....
Here's our menu plan for the week:
Sunday: Lunch after church at my in-laws
: Pancakes with fruit and whipped cream for supper (we were in a hurry!)
Monday: BLT's and fries
Tuesday: Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken, Caesar Salad
Wednesday: Leftovers
Thursday: Fluffy Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies (from the garden)
Friday: Leftovers
Saturday: Homemade Pizza
